The
Incredible Hulk Blu-Ray is one of those movies that the Blu-Ray player was made for. The green superhero returns again just where we left off in 2003 (thank GOD for the change in cast).
The Incredible Hulk, released in theatres on June 13, 2008 and released on Blu-Ray October 21, 2008, reintroduces us to Marvel’s beloved character that was so irresponsibly butchered in the 2003 portrayal.

Blu-Ray
Shown above, the Hulk first appears after a long foot chase across the Brazilian city that Bruce Banner has made his hideout. To credit the screen play (by Zak Penn) the audience is nearly convinced that Banner has finally gained control over the beast within him before General Ross and gang show up for a weak attempt at capturing the U.S. military experiment. I watched this movie in theatres, and I enjoyed it orders of magnitude more on Blu-ray from my 40″ 1080p Samsung LCD panel TV.

Ross and Banner Reunited
Back in the States, Betty Ross hasn’t forgotten about her romantic counterpart (Banner). Although she has “moved on” in Banner’s absence, his return promises a rekindling of their affair. But of course, only so much as the Hulk inside him will allow.
The first scene that truly defines the
Incredible Hulk Blu-Ray is the battle scene that takes place around the campus where Betty Ross conducts her research. General Ross and his new “super soldier” Emil Blonsky bring a little more to the table during this pursuit of the blood that will allow them to create a new breed of killing machine. From the Hulk’s transformation inside the gas-filled walkway to the sound effects from the sonic weaponry, you almost forget that you are watching a film.

Ross and Ross Watching The Battle Ensue
The story quickly unfolds as Banner and Ross race to find Mr. Blue (Samuel Sterns) who promises to have an answer to caging the beast inside banner. Of course, General Ross and a recharged Emil Blonsky will not stop in their relentless and selfish pursuit of power and find the couple in New York City. Just as it seems the Hulk is lost forever, we are met with a rendezvous between Dr. Sterns, Mr. Blonsky, and Banner’s blood that leads to the Abomination.

The Cure
The pinnacle of the Incredible Hulk Blu-Ray, and the payoff for owning a Blu-Ray player, is the epic battle between the Hulk and the Abomination the ensues in the center of a crowded New York City. It isn’t hard to beat the story-line of a movie about a giant green super-hero that is always pissed off, but it will be very hard to beat this last battle scene.

The Abomination
Just as the Hulk is seemingly laid to rest, Banner must search for the beast again to save New York City from the Abomination. From city streets to rooftops, the Abomination has the upper hand as we see Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk become more and more like one. That is, however, until he must save the only on who can truly control the beast within him, Ms. Betty Ross.

Hulk Smash
Although the Hulk seems more and more human like at the end of the movie, as he vocalizes “Betty” in a caveman-like voice, the hopes of Banner and Ross ever living a normal life together are ousted as we follow Banner to his next hiding spot. An equal dejected General Ross is met by Tony Stark (Iron Man), giving us a glimpse into the possibility of a cross-over film about the hailed comic book team, the Avengers. At least we have something to look forward to.
